we tell you what the news isn’t reporting & the politicians don’t want you to know.
Weigh in below with your take.
The federal government is suing the state of Oregon over a request to review Oregon’s voter rolls with names and social security information to verify eligibility— Oregon’s Secretary of State @tobiasreador says he looks forward to fighting this in court.
The Oregon Department of Justice in Oregon is spending millions of taxpayer funds to fight the Feds. What a time to be alive.
Excerpts from @opbphoto and @theoregonian. Interesting to note the Oregonian denied any issues citing a 2016 internal audit showing less than one dozen problems statewide. (Stepping over other news they covered last few years.)
Early estimated are the city spent nearly $10,000 per person on a Vienna junket — airfare included for 3 councilors, their 3 chief of staffs, and a handful of other officials. The city has yet to release the official numbers.
@theoregonian reports the city’s facing a $16 million deficit. Maybe the Mayor and City Council should book their next study trip to Detroit instead. Study up regressive socialists!

If you are fed up with leaders spending freely while basic accountability is nowhere to be found in Oregon, follow me.
The Governor said yesterday millions are going into seismic upgrades for state employee buildings. But people are asking: where’s the money coming from? Higher taxes again?
Meanwhile, most state employees are still working from home. And the legislative staff that works for the Senators have been laid off during special session — while the legislators get $178 a day whether they work or not.
Taxpayers are paying over half a million dollars for a “special session” where many legislators aren’t working and almost nothing has been done.
$178 a day.
Per legislator.
90 legislators.
Every single day.
Since August 29th — 19 days.
$3,382 per legislator.
$304,380 total.
By September 29th — 32 days.
$5,696 per legislator.
$512,640 total.
Select legislators, hearing disapproval about the $178 a day, are now saying they’ll “donate it to charity.”
But that’s not generosity — that’s spin. They’re pocketing taxpayer money, then playing hero by handing it off. Real accountability would mean not taking the money at all.
